A Happy Ending, or A Happy Beginning?

I have been through this five times, Their ages are such that only once did I benefit from the sibling feature. I just want everybody to know that if you hold out till September, you will see one quarter to one third of the classes at the so-called "top schools" (like Clarendon and Lilienthal) being empty with all the private school kids not showing up Come September. Happens every year. Every. Year. If you think you are done at this point, then maybe you don't really want public school. Also, the so called top schools really aren't any better than the next 20 down the list. I learned that by actually sending my kids to these schools, and also, ending up at a trophy school that wasn't. The teachers are all amazing at the SFUSD. They are at the top of their profession and are generally the be

From K/1 all the way to middle school in the back. Amazing energy. The garden in the front was very elaborate with "plant hospital", all kinds of charts(Temperature, weather, precipitation, etc.) that students are collecting, and rules written on the wall (reminded us of the Berkeley Adventure Playground that we so loved) A Pizza Oven!  Then we watched the K/1 kids lined up, sang their "Monday" song, waved to their parents and walked into the building when school day began.  We toured two K/1 classes, one 2/3 class, one 4/5 class, two 6/7 classes. Students seemed very engaged throughout the grade, they were involved in every process/tran

After the disappointment at Jose Ortega. I was dreading that we would not like Starr King either. In the moment of panic, i signed up for a lot more tours just to cast our net wider. Turned out all my worries were unfounded. We loved Starr King!  So relieved. The location is convenient. Google navigation was a little strange and led us up the hwy 101 for half a mile and then told us to get off at Cesar Chaves, while we could have just taken Alemany then Bayshore, would have been a lot more straight forward. Tons of parking around the school, panoramic view around the bay and the ocean. We loved the parents who led the tour, they were down to earth and sincere. they made us feel like we cou

Huge outdoor play area. that's pretty much the end of the good things about Glen Park - The class make up from K to 5th grade are mostly Latino and Black students. I didn't see one single asian face - the teachers seem a lot lower quality than what we saw at Monroe/Jose/Sunnyside, reminds me of 街道老大妈 in beijing - the sc
